Rare Black Forest Gnome Whip Hook, c.1880 Book Sets most notably Vol I ofA superb 19th century black forest wood hand carved whip hook in the form of a gnome. Circa. 1880. The gnome has a carved floppy hat and jacket and is sat upon a stump with his legs crossed as he is pulling on his 'boots', which are the horn hooks. Small metal loop verso for hanging.
