Last year issue silver 1 lempira coin. Certified by NGC to MS 64. Attractively toned with lustrous surfaces, very appealing in hand. Very elusive type above MS62. Lempira was a warrior chieftain of the Lencas of western Honduras. During the 1530s, he led resistance to Francisco de Montejo's (Spanish conquistador) attempts to conquer and incorporate the region into the province of Honduras.
