Set Design, working with Creative, made a series of creatures that represent different types of fears, all with the creature type Nightmare

A creature entering the battlefield or dying at the same time as Hushbringer (including Hushbringer itself entering or dying) won't cause abilities to trigger

Obviously having three modes offsets the latter of these problems somewhat but it does all result in a card that doesn't get a much play as its power level merits

Its true power arrives once you pay 6B and sacrifice a creature to harness it, unlocking an upkeep trigger that reanimates a creature from your graveyard every turn

Its not exactly clear why decks have moved away from old Snappy in formats like Modern or Legacy, but that probably has to do with MTG becoming a more proactive game
